Ok, it's officially the Holiday season.... 'cause I'm officially panicking!!!! Fortunately, I'm almost done with the presents and their wrapping. What's left is finishing my painting, decorating the apartment, putting up the tree, grocery shopping, tidying and cleaning up the place, cooking Xmas dinner... and there was something else too.... the smallest thing, let's see....... oh yeah! FINISHING MY BOOK!!! :(
I haven't even OPENED the doc in like 3 days... :( I'm starting to think that I won't make it. That I'll have to push my deadline to New Year's instead of Christmas. If a read-thru was the only thing this book needed, it could have been done by Christmas but, pasting it in Scrivener, I have found oh-so-many gaps! This book really need to be revisited by the planning side of my brain (which has been snoozing for so long now). So much work needs to be done on it that I fear I won't be able to do it all in five days... Oh well, I'll clear most everything else out of the way first and see how much time is left for me and my novel.
I would like to apologize to my writing buddies, though, who were looking forward in holding my novel for Christmas... I really wanted to make it work but yeah... Life happens. :(
Hey you haven't put up your tree yet? You better get on that girlie! Just stick some nice Christamas music on the background and you can get it all done in no time. And you should take a picture when your painting is done, it's gonna be so fluffy!
ReplyDeleteAs far as writing goes, it usually works best when you aren't rushed and you take your time. I'm sure your writing buddies care more about reading your book when YOU feel it's ready, rather than it reaching a certain date. We want to share in your happiness and achievement - that means you need to be happy with the manuscript first. I support you no matter what deadline you choose. Your story is awesome! Have fun with it!

A new onset of migraine is telling me that I should take these few days between Xmas and New Year to rest and relax... I'll take up on rereading TF1 in January I guess... We'll see how it goes. I just won't make any promise. Because I also have to plan out the outline for my serials...! ^_^

I agree with Rachel! Don't worry about it, just do what you can do when you can do it, and remember to have fun! Can't wait to read, but there's really no hurry :) Good luck! Hope your day is going well!
